Tucked into a stylish new neighborhood in Lake Elmo, MN, this compact circular firepit patio proves that small spaces can still make a big statement. Designed with precision and elegance, we used Techo-Bloc Blu 60 HD2 pavers in Slate Gray, framed with Villagio borders in Onyx Black, to create a sleek, high-contrast layout that pops beautifully against the home’s bright exterior.
With a raised deck overhead, we maximized the lower space by creating a cozy firepit zone surrounded by an elevated black mulch berm, softening the hardscape with a thoughtful mix of plantings—from privacy arborvitaes and bobo hydrangeas to hardy hostas. We layered in low-voltage lighting throughout the mulch bed to define the patio edges and uplight key plant features, creating ambiance day and night.
To ensure the landscape functioned as beautifully as it looked, we retrofitted the irrigation system and completed the lawn with seed and straw blanket restoration for a seamless finish. This project showcases how intentional design and premium materials can transform even a modest space into a refined and functional outdoor retreat.
